(NMB) The Havre Northstars swept the Tri-County Cardinals in a North District doubleheader Wednesday night at Legion Field by scores of 2-0 and 9-8
Game one was a pitchers dual, Colter Solomon got the complete game shutout. The right hander gave up just 3 hits, had 4 strikeouts and walked one.
Havre scored one run in the bottom of the second. Tommy Lewis singled, and Tyson Brandon picked up the RBI with a double. The Northstars only other run came in the bottom of the third
inning when Tyson Brandon doubled and Chasson Mader had the RBI single. Havre out hit the Cardinals 7 to 3.
In game two’s 9-8 win, Havre scored 2 runs in the 1st inning, 3 runs in the 3rd and 4 runs in the 5th. Tri-County scored 3 runs in the 5th inning, 4 in the sixth and 1 run in the top of the seventh.
Tanner DeLarosa was 3 for three at the plate, Quinn Elliott drove in three runs and Ezra Pyle drove in two. Tommy Lewis got the win on the mound going 5 and 1/3 innings, gave up four hits, 5
runs and struck out 2. Teagan Solomon got the save going 1 and 2/3 innings, gave up 3 runs and had 1 strikeout. With the wins Havre is 6 and 5 on the year. 3 and 0 in the North District. There
will be plenty of baseball this weekend as the Northstars host their jamboree Friday through Sunday.
