(NMB) After sweeping the Lethbridge Miners in a home doubleheader on Sunday, the Havre Northstars and Miners played another conference doubleheader in Lethbridge on Wednesday night, and Havre swept the Miners again.
Game one was a 9-2 win for Havre as they out hit the Miners13 to 3. Quinn Elliot earned the win going six innings, allowing just three hits and striking out 2. Tyson Brandon was 3 of 5 at the plate. Archer Sawdy and Tommy Lewis each drove in 2 runs and Tanner DeLarosa and Ezra Pyle collected multiple hits. Havre scored 2 runs in the first, four in the fourth, 2 in the fifth and tacked on one more run in the seventh and cruised to the win.
Game 2 saw the Northstars win by the final of 13-8. Havre drew 5 walks and picked up two singles and a double in the first inning and jumped out to a 6 to 1 lead and never looked back. Tyson Brandon led the way again in game two going 3 for 4 at the plate and driving in 3 runs. Ezra Pyle had 4 RBI’s and Quinn Elliot had 3 RBI’s as well to lead the offense. Connor Essert and Tommy Lewis combined for the win on the mound. Essert went three innings and Lewis went four. With the wins Havre is now 16 and 2 and in first place in the North District.
