(Anaconda – NBCM) A helicopter crashed in Anaconda on Friday morning at 7a.m. near Anaconda Smoke Stack State Park, according Bill Everett, chief executive for Anaconda-Deer Lodge County.
Chief Cody Tocher from the Anaconda Fire Department confirmed one person is dead.
The helicopter was contracted by the Atlantic Richfield Company (ARCO)doing revegetation and reclamation work.
The National Transportation Safety Board is investigating the crash.
