One Killed, Four Injured in Crash Near Stevensville

STEVENSVILLE, Mont. (NMB) – A 31-year-old St. Ignatius woman was killed and four other St. Ignatius residents were injured in a single-vehicle crash in Ravalli County early Tuesday evening.

The Montana Highway Patrol reports that the crash occurred at 5:32 PM on Montana Highway 203, when a northbound Dodge Dakota veered into the oncoming lane after the 37-year-old driver looked over at a passenger. The driver over-corrected and went off the right side of the road into a burrow pit. The vehicle traveled around 200 feet before it went into a roll and came to rest upside-down.

The 37-year-old driver and three passengers, ages 7, 8, and 10, were transported to local hospitals for treatment. None of the vehicle’s occupants were wearing seatbelts.

The crash remains under investigation.
