P.A.W.S. Animal Shelter Holding Online Auction

CHINOOK, Mont. (NMB) – The P.A.W.S. (Pets Are Worth Saving) Animal Shelter is holding an online auction on Facebook to raise funds for their services.

P.A.W.S. Manager Alissa Hewitt says over 50 items, all donated by the community, are up for auction from 10 AM today until bidding closes at 8 PM Monday.

“We’ve gathered up donations locally from hand made things to things in stores that people have decided to donate. We just thought this would be a really fun time to start some early Christmas shopping and also help out P.A.W.S.”

Some of the items up for auction include artwork, gift baskets and more.

“One of my favorites is the AmericInn of Havre donated a one-night stay. Plus a really great wine package. The new Bow & Marrow restaurant has also donated some gift certificates. So we’ve bundled those together to make it a really nice night in Havre for somebody.”

Hewitt says all money raised will go directly to P.A.W.S.

To give everybody an idea, we spend about $200 just to spay or neuter one of our animals. We also do all of the vaccinations, microchipping. Any problems they have when they come into the shelter, we pay 100 percent. So just to give you an idea of how much we put into the animal before it goes up for adoption. Our adoption fee is $100. So any bit of money we make goes straight to the care of the animals.”

The total value of all the items up for auction is about $4,500.

To view the auction, head to the P.A.W.S. of Chinook Facebook page.
