HAVRE, Mont. (NMB) – This Saturday is Living History Day in Havre and several local museums and attractions will be offering tours to celebrate Havre’s history. Manager of the Wahkpa Chu’gn Buffalo Jump and the Clack Museum Emily Mayer says they are offering an incentive, called a Passport to History, for those who go on all five tours of the area.
“What they are are postcards and there are only 250 of them available. And they will be available at Havre Beneath the Streets, Wahkpa Chu’gn Buffalo Jump, the Clack Museum, and Fort Assiniboine. And you must tour all five sites in order for you to be put in for the drawing.”
Mayer says that the History Among the Headstones tour will be the final stop on the Passport to History.
“All four of the sites will be on Living History Day, June 1st, which is Havre Beneath the Streets, the Buffalo Jump, the Museum and the Fort. And the fifth site, which is the Notable Citizens History Among the Headstones tour, will take place June 2nd through 6th.”
Mayer says they will draw the winner of the Passport to History on Friday, June 7th. Everyone who completes the Passport will be entered into win a $100 Chamber Gift Certificate.
