(Havre) The PAWS Animal Shelter of Chinook is opening a new thrift store, The Rescue Rack, using the old location for Havre’s Helping Haven.
New Media Broadcasters spoke with President of PAWS Alissa Hewitt
“This just gives us an extra revenue source that’s more sustainable and that we can rely on. Because PAWS is a private non-profit, we only get adoption fees, private donations, one or two grants a year and that’s all… which really isn’t much.”
Hewitt says that animals from the shelter will make regular appearances at the store as a way getting them acclimated to a new environment.
The new store is set to open on the 21st of February, beginning at 10am.
