The Big Sandy Pioneers and Manhattan Christian Eagles clashed in Billings for the Boys State “C” Basketball Championship.
The Eagles defeated Big Sandy (74-65) to win the title. Seth Amunrud (29pts) led the way for the Eagles, Mason Venema (18pts) & Tabarek Hill (17pts) rounded out the top scorers for Manhattan Christian. The Eagles as a team shot 26/31 (81%) from the free throw line for the game.
For Big Sandy Lane Demontiney (17pts), Kody Strutz (12pts), & Wylee Snapp (12pts) were the scoring leaders. Big Sandy’s impressive season ends as the second ranked team in the Class “C” for the 2022-2023 season. The Pioneers entered the District 9-C Tournament as the #2 seed and lost to CJI in round 2. Since that loss the Pioneers finished the season winning 7/8 before falling in the Title Game. Including wins (60-47) vs Lustre Christian & (55-53) vs Powder River in the State Tournament.
