(Glendive) The Havre Blue Pony boys and girls track team completed competition at the Eastern A Divisional Track and Field meet in Glendive on Saturday. The top 10 athletes in each event qualify for state.
The girls 100 meters saw three blue ponies qualify for state, with Macee Brandon claiming the crown in 12.63 seconds. She will be joined by Ella Harber and Macee May. The Blue Ponies will be sending four athletes to state in the 200 meters as Brandon, Harber, Liv Cote and Emily Leeds qualified. Hailey Gingrey punched her ticket to state in two events the 800 and 3200 meters. In the 4 by 400-meter relay the Havre girls secured their state spot with a 5th place finish. As we head to the field, Roma Gum finished 4th in the Javelin, to secure a state spot, while Macee May claimed her second individual championship in the triple jump soaring to 35 feet 8 and a half inches. As a team the Havre girls finished second scoring 99 points. Custer County claimed the girls team title with points.
On the boys side, Mason Gregoire and the Boys 4 by 400-meter relay team both finished 5th securing their berths at state. Havre will have three boys representing them in the shot put at state. Tommy Lewis, Gage Chapman, and Brandon Healy all qualified. In the Javelin the Blue Ponies will send Tucker Olson to state. As a team the Pony boys scored 19 points.
Besides these athletes who qualified at divisionals, the Ponies will also have any athletes who met the state minimum qualifying standards in their events at the state meet next week in Kalispell.
