The Havre Blue Ponies (6-4) kickoff their playoff run at home this Saturday vs the Whitefish Bulldogs (6-3). Havre earned the #4 seed in the East, giving them home-field for round 1.
Earning a home playoff game has its advantages. Head coach of the Ponies, Jake Eldridge, wants to make sure his guys know that they did indeed earn this advantage.
“That’s what they’ve earned. They’ve earned the opportunity to host a playoff game with everything they’ve done so far. Just really excited for them and obviously it great to be able to be at home.”
After beginning the season 1-2, the Ponies continued to improve every week. They were able to finish the season strong winning 5 of their last 7 games, including a 4-game win streak outscoring their opponents 130 to 19 during the run.
Despite their strong finish and record, Coach Eldridge wants to remind everyone it is now a new season for everyone.
“It’s a one game season. You win and move on, and you lose, and you go home. So, I think everything else is out the window. The records are out the window, your tendencies and all that. I think everything is on the table.”
The battle in Blue Pony Stadium kicks off at 1pm this Saturday.
