(NMB) All of Montana’s School Sports classifications will be in Missoula this Saturday for the State Cross Country Meet at The University of Montana Golf Course. Havre’s girls were 3rd and the boys were 4th at last week’s Eastern “A” Divisional meet in Sidney. Blue Pony Head Coach Erin Lynch says the State meet course is a bit more challenging than the course Ponies ran last week.
“The first mile of it is relatively flat and the second mile is a steady climb, and then the third mile they drop back onto that first mile.”
Both Havre teams have steadily improved their individual time all year and this week’s practice will concentrate on making sure that everyone is at peak performance for the State Meet.
“What we are doing is taking our training and you kind of scale it down to about a third of what you would do during your trainings during the season so you can be at peak performance.”
The Havre Girls are scheduled to run at 11:35am on Saturday, while the Havre boys will run at 12:40pm
Other area School’s participating at the State Cross Country meet are Chinook, Harlem and Rocky Boy.
