Havre girls’ basketball continues to roll through the season after picking up dominant performances against Glendive and Sidney at home last weekend. New Media Broadcasters asked head coach Tommy Brown his thoughts on the games.
“Well, I thought we tried to clean up the offensive end from the previous weekend,” Brown said. “I thought our girls did a really nice job.”
“We sit in the locker room before the games (and) said our goal was every trip, no matter what the score was, (to) give it your best,” Brown continued. “That’s what I thought we did.”
“(We) came out on top with two dominating wins,” Brown said. “I couldn’t ask for much more and I was proud of our girls.”
The Lady Ponies will be back home for the regular season finale against Laurel, but first have to travel to Lewistown and face Fergus County. Brown previewed what he would like to see from his team on court this week.
“Go out and compete. (It’s) no different than any other game,” Brown said. “I think it’s kind of cool that we get to end the season with one of our conference rivals and then a team we never got to see before.”
“Let’s keep taking steps as a team so we’re ready to play our best basketball at the end of the year,” Brown continued.
Games between Havre (14-2, 7-0) and Lewistown (6-8, 2-2) and Laurel will be on Friday and Saturday, respectively. The road contest against Fergus is around 6pm and the Laurel home game starts around 5:30pm. Both games will be on KOJM-610AM, 98.3FM, and HiLineToday.com with Noah Friedman calling the regular season finale on Saturday.
