(Blackfoot Valley) – Montana Fish Wildlife, and Parks has advised that prescribed burns have been planned for the Blackfoot-Clearwater and Nevada Lake Wildlife Management Areas (WMAs) in the Blackfoot Valley from mid-September through October to enhance wildlife habitat and reduce fuel loads.
These burns include a 100-acre burn at Blackwood-Clearwater WMA near Seeley Lake and a 65-acre burn at the Nevada Lake WMA, near Helmville.
These burns are weather dependent, and visitors and residents are advised they will see smoke periodically.
