(Havre) – National Spring Prescription Drug Take Back Day is Saturday April 22nd. Cal Lien Pharmacy Manager at Northern Montana Health Care Pharmacy tells us what the day is about.
“Drug Take Back Day is a day that helps prevent and reduce medication misuse. It’s like spring cleaning for your medicine cabinet and provides a way to dispose of prescription drugs and reduce the potential for medication abuse.“-Lien

“I think annually just like you do with spring cleaning ought to be just fine for that. I think it’s a good idea to get rid of unused medications. It reduces the potential for, like I said, medication abuse and misuse.“-Lien
You can take your unneeded, unused and expired prescription drugs year-round to the Blue Med Safe Box at the Emergency Room entrance of Northern Montana Hospital. Lien tells us what medications are accepted.
“People looking to bring back their tablets, capsules and even liquids up to four ounces as long as they put their liquids in a zip lock bag. And it’s also important just to remember when they’re doing that to go ahead and remove all personal information from pill bottles and medication packaging.“-Lien
