Human traffickers in Montana are changing their methods. According to law enforcement the days of prostitutes walking the streets may be coming back.
Andrew Yedinak the supervisory agent within the Montana DOJ Human Trafficking Unit explains more.
“A common misconception is that the days of the street walkers are gone, and that’s just false. I think they’re coming back and what I mean by that is, I’m not originally from Montana but I’ve been told that in the 80s and early 90s it was very well known that in Billings on Montana Avenue, it was not uncommon to go down there in the evening and find girls that are walking the street that are working. These pimps know that if they advertise their victims online that’s an easy place for law enforcement to find them, and we have talked with pimps as well as victims that have told us they are going back to the old ways of doing things sometimes because there is less of a way of us tracking them.” -Andrew Yedinak
