HAVRE, Mont. (NMB) – The Havre Service Center of the Salvation Army is in the final stretch of their annual Red Kettle Campaign.
Emergency Services Director Trina Crawford says that as of Monday morning, they are around $22,000 short of their $39,000 goal to fund their services in 2022.
“Funds that are raised go towards our emergency services and our risk program. The emergency services are where we help people that have some emergency needs. Whether it be rental, transportation, whether it be lodging, which is a big thing in the winter, especially, because of the cold weather. The lodging is a huge bill for us, and this money will go towards that. And then the Risk program is a reintegration into society program, and that is a program that helps people come out of alcohol and addictions that are part of the judicial system. We just give them some extra support to help them make better choices and give them a chance to work through the barriers of their addiction to help them become successful community members.”
Crawford says that many local service organizations have stepped up to provide bell ringers, but more are needed over the next few days.
The campaign concludes when stores close on Christmas Eve.
