Richard Scott Leeds, 64, passed away at his home in Spokane following a short illness. He was the fifth child of Carlyle David Leeds (Lyle) and Joan Leeds. Scott grew up in Havre and graduated from Hare High School.
Scott joined the Navy following graduation. He was stationed in Japan and Korea and trained in underwater welding.
Following his discharge from the Navy, Scott continued underwater welding for the oil industry in Washington, Texas, and Louisiana. He remained in the oil and gas industry on land in many areas of the country, retiring from eastern Montana and North Dakota.
He loved the outdoors and was an avid hunter and fisherman.
Scott was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his son C.J. Verploegen (Caroline), his brothers and sisters, David Leeds (Cyndi), Janine Leeds, Marcia Haroldson (Eugene), Laura Leeds, Chirs Leeds (Brenda), a granddaughter, nieces, and nephews.
A Private family service will be held in the near future.
