HAVRE, Mont. (NMB) – After working for about two years as the Office Manager for the Havre-area Chamber of Commerce, Julea Robbins is taking over for Jody Olson as the new Executive Director. Robbins is a Havre High School graduate and she’s looking forward to getting to know Havre better. She says some changes will be made, but she likes how Olson has been running the office.
“I really like the way that she’s done things. I like the way that she runs things, but it will be different, just because we are different people. I love the things that she has changed and I will continue to keep those things, but I would also like to keep moving forward, because everything needs to change to get better.”
Robbins says she has a few goals in mind for her office and the City.
“We’re continuously working on getting Havre, kind of, updated into, like, the 21st century. Trying to get people to be more online and less with paper. I would really like to work on getting our tourism going a little bit more. So, that’s going to be something that we have to work with all of the attractions and hotels and stuff. And that’s something that I’d really like to get a jumpstart on.”
Olson is still acting Director until the end of the month, when Robbins will officially take over.
