Rocky Boy Enters Stage 1 Fire Restrictions

ROCKY BOY, Mont. (NMB) – The Chippewa Cree Tribe has entered into Stage 1 Fire Restrictions, which will remain in place until further notice.

This includes a burn ban within the boundaries of the Rocky Boy’s Reservation. There is not an exemption for fire pits, recreational campfires, yard debris burning and agricultural burning unless specifically stated otherwise.

Outdoor barbecuing remains allowed but should be done with extreme caution.

Smoking in outdoor areas within three feet of flammable materials is also prohibited.

For additional information, contact the Chippewa Cree Tribe Fire Management Office at 406-395-4207.

Hill County has yet to enter fire restrictions, but DES Coordinator Amanda Frickel says it is highly likely they enter a burn ban on Tuesday.
