CHINOOK, Mont. (NMB) – After having to be canceled last year due to COVID-19 concerns, One Health-Sweet’s Annual race for diabetes prevention and awareness is making a comeback.
The Fight Diabetes Beatdown will begin at 9 AM on Saturday, with the start and finish line at the Commercial Building at the Blaine County Fairgrounds.
Nora Conner is the Community Health Advocate for One Health-Sweet and says it is crucial that diabetes is properly treated.
“It is so severe. We try and get everybody’s numbers in line. Their sugars, and they should see a provider if they are having some issues and get checked out. But it’s just such a severe disease that we wanted to bring awareness to the community.”
The cost of registration ranges from $20 for one mile to $30 for five miles. Online registration is preferred, but race day registration will be available.
There will also be numerous vendors on hand, selling food and other products. A bounce house will also be on hand.
“If you want a massage, you can get a massage. Pampered chef, pink zebra, secret sun travel. We have metal work, crystals, baked goods, just a fun day.”
More information is available at the event website. A virtual race option is also available.
