Ruyle, Brady to Receive Founders’ Excellence Awards

HAVRE, Mont. (NMB) – The Montana State University-Northern Alumni Foundation announced the 2019 Founders’ Excellence Award recipients. A press release says a ceremony will be held on May 3rd on Northern’s campus to honor Dr. Leslie Ruyle and Janice Brady.

Brady came to work at Northern Montana College in 1971 and eventually served as Dean of Extended University and Director of Summer Session. She was involved in a variety of programs, directed outreach, helped upgrade Northern’s telecommunications systems, scheduled online classes, and organized workshops.

Dr. Ruyle came to Northern to play basketball and volleyball, and graduated in 1995 with a Bachelor’s in Biology and Ecology. She is an ecologist working cross-disciplinarily to create innovative solutions for conservation, conflict, and development. She holds a PhD in Ecology from the University of Georgia, served as a Peace Corps Volunteer, and has managed university-based initiatives. She teaches at and serves as the Assistant Director of the Scowcroft Institute at Texas A&M University.
