Safety First For Hill County

New additions are coming to Hill County.

At Thursday’s Hill County Commissioner Court meeting the Commissioners agreed to approve new mechanical crossing arms for the railroad crossing on County Rd 275 North, west of Kremlin.

Commissioner Jake Strissel said, ” It is a major truck route for local farmers also a major bus route for the local North Star schools. Looking at the safety aspect of it, currently it does not have arms and with those two major things between the school and truck loads going through for the farmers. We felt it was beneficial to put those up there.”

The arms will initially be paid for by the railroad, then the state of Montana will reimburse the expense.
