HAVRE, Mont. (NMB) – Members of the Havre community have launched a program to reward area youth for engaging in healthy activities and making positive decisions.
Randi Gabrielsen of the HELP Committee and Boys & Girls Club of the Hi-Line has more:
“It’s an incentive program to reward kids for being safe during the summer. But it’s also an opportunity for Police to positively interact with the youth in our community and let the kids know that our community cares about them and we notice when they are doing things that are healthy.”
If Havre Police notice that kids are making safe choices such as wearing a bike helmet or using crosswalks, they may provide them with a reward bag that includes a note of recognition, prevention messaging items, and coupons for free treats donated by local businesses such as Dairy Queen and McDonald’s.
