(Havre) The Salvation Army Emergency Services in Havre has is out of money for housing in January. New Media Broadcasters spoke with Executive Director Trina Crawford to find out why.
“Because of the cold snap we’ve had in the last week or so, we’ve had a lot of requests for lodging, and with this kind of a cold snap we try to make sure people are housed and inside because this is the kind of weather than causes death. So, we’ve had an outstanding amount of requests for lodging to get people warm”
Crawford said that the was partially exacerbated by the record-low numbers that they collected for last years Red Kettle Campaign, which they report coming up almost $10,000 short based on their needs assessment of the community.
