HAVRE, Mont. (NMB) – This Saturday, the Havre-Area Chamber of Commerce will be sponsoring the Santa Run as part of the annual Community Tree Lighting at the Town Square. Chamber Executive Director Jody Olson says runners can sign up at Norman’s Ranchwear before the race. They will also have prizes for fastest runners and best costumes.
“We’ll be at Norman’s Ranchwear at 4 o’clock for registration and the run will start at 4:30. It’s only a mile run. We’ve just got the street closed off right there from, you know, in front of the Town Square at Norman’s and then up to 9th and then back again. You’ll be back in time to see the tree lighting.”
Olson encourages the runners to dress up in holiday outfits and possibly win a prize.
“We’ve got prizes for 1st place finisher in male, female and then a youth. And then, also, we encourage everybody to dress up in holiday wear. And so then, were going to also have prizes for Santa or Mrs. Claus, an adult holiday outfit and then a youth holiday outfit. So, come dressed up and you’ve got a good chance of winning a prize.”
The run costs $10 per person or $25 for a family. The Chamber will also be awarding the prizes from the Super Certificate drawing at 5 PM during the Community Tree Lighting that night.
