Four games occurred this morning involving both boys and girls teams from the 9-C District. Here’s the recap on these games.
The morning started out Boys Loser Out matches, and the first one at 8am pitted the Chinook Sugarbeeters against the Winnett-Grass Range Rams. The Rams put pressure on the Sugarbeeters the entire match, and it ultimately ended with Winnett-Grass Range Rams beating the Chinook Sugarbeeters 62-46. The second Loser Out match at 9:30am saw the CJI Hawks against the Heart Butte Warriors. Simply put, the Warriors clipped the Hawks and won the game 75-49. Both the Chinook and CJI boys teams finished their season today with a couple devastating losses.
The Girls Loser Out matches followed immediately after, with the first match at 11am having the Fort Benton Lady Horns facing off against the Geraldine-Highwood Lady Rivals. The Lady Rivals started the game with a lead in the first quarter, but by the second quarter, the Lady Horns were not having and decided to go beast mode for the rest of the game. By the end of that game, the Fort Benton Lady Horns won against the Geraldine-Highwood Lady Rivals 47-25. The second Girls Loser Out match had the Chinook Lady Sugarbeeters face off against the Belt Lady Huskies. It was a close game throughout, but the Lady Huskies broke ahead with a lead and won the game 46-30.
The Chinook Lady Sugarbeeters’ season came to a close today, but the Fort Benton Lady Horns will go on to face the Belt Lady Huskies tonight at 7pm for a Girls Consolation Match. Immediately afterwards, the Box Elder Lady Bears go up against the Roy-Winifred Lady Outlaws at 8:30pm for the Girls Championship Match of the Northern C Tournament.
