HAVRE, Mont. (NMB) – Several fires were reported in the area on Wednesday evening. The Havre Fire Chief Mel Paulson said they responded to a small grass fire at about 5:30 a few miles west of Havre near Highway 2, just past Beaver Creek Golf Course. The fire was reported to be less than 150 feet in size and was quickly extinguished.
The Montana Highway Patrol also responded to some fires further from Havre. A package delivery truck caught fire on Highway 87 in Chouteau County, near mile marker 20. The road was closed for a short time, until the fire was extinguished and then reopened.
Another fire was also reported to the Montana Highway Patrol between the Kremlin Bay turnoff and the town of Kremlin. No other information was immediately available.
