(Havre) – With the holidays approaching and people looking for gift ideas we sat down with Peter Feberspeil (feder sp eel) the Animal Control Officer for the city of Havre about what people should know about getting a holiday pet.
“I don’t think there’s a bad time to get a pet the holiday season there just needs to be some things that you kinda plan for. when you bring a pet home over the holidays there’s more people in the house in your home and then when you go back to work it kind of stresses the animal out again because it goes form a full house to an empty house so that’s one thing that people need to be mindful of during the holidays. The other thing is is timing for getting an animal for getting them home for Christmas. A lot of times you see movies and stuff where the pet is in a box underneath the tree and that’s kind of an unrealistic thing for getting a pet at this time of the year.”
