Skylights Basketball Drops Exhibition to Begin 2024-25 Season

On Sunday afternoon, the MSU-Northern Skylights basketball team faced off with NCAA Division II power MSU-Billings for an exhibition game down in Choteau. The result was a Yellowjackets victory, (66-50). The teams were tied at 20 after one quarter and the Skylights only found themselves down (34-28) at halftime. The Jackets put on a defensive performance in the third quarter, allowing MSU-N to only score five points in 10 minutes.

Taya Trottier was the only Skylight to crack double digits, posting 10 points in 32 minutes of action, while McKenzie Long was next on the list with eight points. Scoring debuts included Lynnea Moran with seven points off the bench, Emma Wass and Canzas HisBadHorse with six, Becky Melcher with four, and one point each from Maddie Williamson and Katelynn Forner at the free throw line.

The Skylights will start playing in games that count when they face Park University-Gilbert on a neutral court in Billings this Friday.
