(Great Falls) The MSU Northern Skylight Basketball team was in Great Falls on Thursday night and defeated Northwest University by a final score of 81-69. The Skylights jumped out to a 28 to 13 lead after one quarter and led 43 to 27 at the half. Northwest had a strong second half but the Skylights held on for the victory.
Offensively MSU Northern shot 50 percent from the field going 29 of 58. Shot 41 percent from the three point line and was 16 of 17 from the free throw line.
There were four skylights in double figures. Jalen Callender led the way with 16. Ryley Kehr added 13. Taya Trottier and Shyan Krass each added 12 points.
The Skylights are now 1 and 0 and will be back in Great Falls Friday night to play Corbon University. Tip-off is scheduled for 7pm.
