With winter sports winding down, recruiting will start to take shape in college athletics. Enter MSU-Northern’s first volleyball signing of the 2025 class Lexi Jones. The Alberta native will play middle hitter for the Skylights starting this fall.
“Lexi is a tall, dynamic athlete with a very high ceiling,” Head coach Jerry Wagner said in a press release. “I’m counting on Lexi to be an immediate impact player early in her career.”
The 6-foot-1 Jones has earned many accolades during her time playing volleyball in Canada, whether it was at the club level or in primary school. She will look to be one of the new faces to replace a senior lineup that lost one of its best hitters to graduation in Alana Graves.
“I chose MSUN because I felt the volleyball program and coaching will help me grow as a player and gain more experience,” Jones said in the press release. “MSUN gives me the opportunity to be away from home and still be close enough for visits. I’m very excited to have this opportunity.”
Coach Wagner told New Media Broadcasters he is in the process of signing a handful more players, so stay tuned for when those become official.
