Northern Volleyball is now on a three-match losing streak after dropping sets to Montana Tech and Carroll at home last week. New Media Broadcasters spoke to head coach Jerry Wagner and he said even in this face of adversity, his team is still believing that they can put together the results that will help them in the next few weeks.
“We’re honest with ourselves when we do the necessary things that we are capable,” Wagner said. “We’re having success against anyone in this conference.”
“I’m probably more confident than ever that we’re going to continue to work at those situations and times in the matches where we have to be a little bit more thrifty,” Wagner said. “We will earn the results we deserve.”
The Skylights will be wrapping up the home schedule by trying to go for a program sweep against Rocky and will then face a three-match road test to close out the 2024 regular season. Coach Wagner took a look game by game to say what the outlook is for this week.
“The conferences (continues to be) in mini-series of three. We can learn from this,” Wagner said. “We have a chance to close out Rocky with a good effort and win all three (matches).”
“We took two sets and set ourselves up for a third-set victory over Western after winning the first two in recent memory,” Wagner continued.
The Rocky match will be “Host Parent Night” and gets underway at 7pm Wednesday. The team will then travel to face Montana Western on Saturday at 2pm.
