MALTA, Mont. (NMB) – On Wednesday, October 16th, the Natural Resources Conservation Service will be hosting a Soil Health Class in the Malta area. A press release says the event will feature North Dakota Soil Health Specialist Jay Fuhrer, NRCS rainfall simulator and the NRCS wind erosion simulator.
Some of the Soil Health topics include cover crops, grazing cover crops, and renovating hayland.
Those interested in the class need to meet at the Phillips County Library at 8:50 AM on Wednesday, then they will travel together to the Karl Mavencamp Farm ten miles east of Malta. The outdoor portion of the class will take place at the Mavencamp Farm from 9:30 to 11:30 AM. They will then break for lunch on your own. The indoor portion of the class will take place at the Phillips County Library basement from 1 to 3 PM.
