Sourers named new Northern Head Football Coach

The MSU-Northern athletic department announced Friday evening that former Northern Arizona head football coach Jerome Souers was offered the job as head football coach of the MSU-Northern Lights football program, and he accepted. Souers spent 12 years on the staff of the University of Montana Grizzlies, the final eight as a defensive coordinator. During his tenure as head coach at Northern Arizona Souers compiled a record of 123 wins and 114 losses making him the winning coach in school history, along with the leading the LumberJack to the playoffs in five different seasons. MSU-Northern Chancellor Greg Kegel said, “without a doubt Jerome Souers is one of the greatest coaches in N.C.A.A. division one history and I am very pleased and excited that he has agreed to head up the Northern Lights football program.”
