Havre basketball saw action in Lewistown Friday night, in a conference match up with Fergus County.
The girls started off, battling toward a low scoring session. At the end of one the Lady Ponies held an 11-5 advantage and stretched things to a 25-9 lead at the half. The third quarter saw the Lady Golden Eagles trim the deficit to 33-23, but Havre staved off Fergus to claim the victory 46-39.
Amaya Jarvis led the way in the Blue Pony win, sinking 26 points.
In the boys contest, the roles reversed, as the Blue Ponies trailed their host after the first 12-6 and fell into a 31-15 hole into the intermission. Fergus pushed their lead to 44-26 to end the third and charged on to win 59-36.
Tre Gary put up 12 points in the Havre effort.
Havre will wrap up the regular season on Saturday, in hosting the Laurel Locomotives. Boys start the action at Blue Pony Stadium at 4p, with the girls tipping off about 5:30p.
