HAVRE, Mont. (NMB) – St. Jude Thaddeus School has been awarded a $10,000 grant from the BNSF Railway Foundation to help with renovations of their campus.
The money will go towards renovating the third floor of their building on the northeast corner of the 400 block of Sixth Avenue, which will then be used for junior high school classes.
School Principal Mike Haugen says that the grant will help ease classroom overcrowding and increase school capacity by around 50.
“Right now our math classes are in the same room as our science lab. It’s just really cramped for space. That will enable us to separate our math room from our lab sciences room.”
This grant comes two years after the school received a similar grant from BNSF, which helped the school fund renovations for the first two floors of the building. That space now contains a library, faculty lounge and bathrooms.
