Stevensville Woman Killed in Crash

RAVALLI COUNTY, Mont. (NMB) – The Montana Highway Patrol reports that a 41-year-old woman from Stevensville was killed in a single-vehicle crash on Monday morning.

According to the crash report, the woman was driving a 2008 Toyota Tacoma westbound on Three Mile Creek Road near Stevensville at 5:30 AM. The pickup’s tires lost traction on an ice covered roadway, and the driver overcorrected before sliding off the right-side of the roadway. The pickup crashed into a utility pole and a wood fence. It then continued for approximately 400 feet through a field where it crashed into two more fences before coming to a stop. The woman succumbed to her injuries on scene.

Excessive speed is a suspected factor in the crash.

The woman was the lone occupant of the vehicle. She was wearing a seatbelt.
