Stone Child College Receives Library Grant

ROCKY BOY, Mont. (NMB) – The Institute of Library and Museum Services has awarded Stone Child College, through the Chippewa Cree Tribe, a grant of $90,130.

A press release says the IMLS has announced they have awarded Stone Child College funds through the Native American Library Services: Enhancement Grant to enhance the available library services with an emphasis on educational programing. This one-year grant will improve the quality of and access to library and information services between the library and the community. It will also provide community programming to increase cultural events and attract more community members into the library.

Funds will be used to host community events, purchase archiving equipment, work with a digital preservation consultant to build archives, provide a library assistant, and enable the librarians to attend vital professional development training.
