The Sugarbeeter football team went to Park City last Friday and got the win, 46-6, making them 2-0 on the season.
Head Coach Mike Jones had this to say about his team’s hot start.
“It’s good, non-conference matchups and teams we will probably see in the playoffs, so to come out of that 2-0 is good for our boys and our confidence and we just keep preaching the message ‘week by week’. Time to get back to work,” says Jones.
The Sugarbeeters have outscored their first two opponents of the season by a total of 46 points.
The team is looking to carry that momentum into their upcoming home matchup against the Shelby Coyotes.
Mike Jones also shared that he and his squad are looking forward to Friday night, under the lights.
“It’s gonna be nice to be under the lights, we’ve had back-to-back day games, so the night game will be nice for us. Shelby is a good team, they like to run the ball, we are going to have to make sure that we are on point defensively,” says Jones.
The Sugarbeeters take on Shelby on Friday night at 7pm, to cap off their homecoming week.
