Symptoms of West Nile Virus

(Havre) – Last Week West Nile Virus was found in a pool of Mosquitos in Hill County. Four out Five people will experience no symptoms for a mosquito bite and have a symptamatic West Nile Virus. Hill County Health Director Kim Berg told New Media Broadcasters about how many people get and what the symptoms are of a mild West Nile Virus infection.

“About 1 in 5 people will develop a mild form of illness and that’s called West Nile Fever or non-neuro invasive West Nile. Those symptoms to look out for that are fever, rash, body aches, headache, joint pain and muscle pain and then they might experience a difficulty with like long-term fatigue follow that, that can go on for months.”
