Tester IIJA secures 7 million dollars for Montana internet accessibility

(Sen. Jon Tester’s Office) – Through his work to fund the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA), US Senator Jon Tester helped secure just under $7 million for accessing high speed internet for underserved communities in Montana.

The funding was dispersed through the State Digital Equity Capacity Grant program, from a total of $65 billion for nationwide affordable aid, to reach areas without internet access. The Federal Communications Commission has released new updated maps to help determine internet availability.

In addition to the internet funding, Tester also helped secure funding for state roads/highways/bridges, authorize Indian water rights settlements, water projects through the Bureau of Land Management, and wildfire risk reduction through the IIJA.
