The nation is experiencing a substantial egg shortage, but Hi-Line grocers may have the perfect solution.
Joe Malisani the manager at Gary and Leo’s further explains the egg shortage.
“Almost a year ago, we saw the first outbreak on Avian Flu in Indiana. Since reported we’ve seen it spread all over the United States. Many estimates as many as 50 million birds have been culled in over 46 states. This combined with increased fuel, labor, and packing cost have put the egg market in a tough spot.”-Joe Malisani
But the Havre community has a unique solution to the nationwide egg shortage.
“We are blessed to be able to work with Cool Spring Colony to offer cage free eggs year-round. When the prices spike Cool Spring Colony sells at a heavy discount, keeping the prices reasonable in our community. It’s a Hi-Line kind of deal, neighbors helping neighbors.”-Joe Malisani
