Big things are happening for Montana farmers and ranchers.

On Monday November 21st the new meat processing cooperative had its grand opening in Havre.

Walter Schweitzer the Montana Farmers Union President explains what’s wrong with our food chain supply chain, and how the new co-op plans to operate differently.

“This is a broken supply chain, and it’s because we’ve concentrated all of it in just a few areas and so what we’re doing here is bringing the processing back to our local communities. Where it’s locally grown, locally raised, to be processed locally, to be ate locally.”– Walter Schweitzer
