THOMPSON FALLS, Mont. (NMB) – The Montana State News Bureau reports that a therapeutic boarding school near Thompson Falls closed down on Friday.
The 16-bed Wood Creek Academy had been at the center of numerous complaints and infractions in recent years, including allegations that they made teenage boys sleep outside in the winter in shorts and a t-shirt as a punishment.
The Department of Public Health and Human Services confirmed several infractions, including that the Academy waited over an hour after two boys ran away before calling authorities.
