HAVRE, Mont. (NMB) – With the Republican primary race for Governor heating up, Montana Attorney General Tim Fox and former state senator Jon Knokey were in Havre earlier this week campaigning.
The Republican team of Fox and Knokey believe they have the experience necessary to take back the governor’s seat from the Democratic side.
Fox says that compared to his Republican counterparts in the race, he believes his voting record and experience in government sets him apart.
“There are some similarities among the candidates for Governor in the Republican primary. But if you look at the records and who has actually been a conservative Republican, and who just says they are, you’ll find that head and shoulders, this ticket is way above the others.”
Earlier this month, Fox and Knokey released their agricultural platform, which addresses issues such as water rights, FFA education and private property rights.
“This is a conversation, these are draft strategies. We’re asking folks to comment, to give us their ideas, their criticisms, constructively. That’s unprecedented of a ticket like ours.”
