(Columbus) Two teens from Columbus received the Spirit of Montana award on Wednesday from Governor Gianforte.
The two, Grayson Williams and Chancy Segeberg were recognized for their heroic efforts to save their friends life after he got into a car accident.
In July 2022, after a day of football practice in Shepherd, Williams, Segeberg, and their friend Ethan were driving home when Ethan’s truck veered off course, overturning and coming to rest in a nearby pasture. The two friends pulled him to safety before calling EMTs and stayed by his side until they arrived.
At the ceremony, Ethan reported to the governor that after several surgeries he was fully recovered and back playing basketball, baseball, and football.
