UM Softball Bolsters Multiple Season Awards

Missoula – With the conclusion of the Big Sky Conference softball regular season, the University of Montana Softball saw both athletes and head coach honored. The Griz finished 9-6 in league play after only having a combined 2 conference wins in the previous two seasons.

Griz head coach Stef Ewing was named as conference Co-Coach of the year with Idaho State head coach Andrew Rich. Ewing and rich coached against each other for the regular season title in the final game of the year.

Kailee Mejia was named Big Sky Freshman of The Year and All-Conference honorable mention. Carah Sweet a sophomore transfer earned the conferences Newcomer of the Year award.

Anna Cock hill was the lone first team selection as a sophomore while Grace Lopez and JoJo Christiaens were second team selections as Griz sophomores. Mackenzie Bekofsky was named as an honorable mention. Montana had five sophomores earn regular season honors.
