Missoula, MT – As of Tuesday, former Freshman of year award winner and current University of Montana Grizzlies starting running back, Eli Gilman, was named to the Payton Award watch list.
The Peyton Award is the most prestigious individual award in FCS college football, often referred to as the “FCS Heisman Trophy”. Gilman was one of 30 FCS players to be put on the award watch list.
In just two seasons at Montana, Gilman is making his case for the Montana sports hall of fame by putting up record numbers, positioning himself for a historical junior season.
Gillman has 28 total rushing touchdowns, and 2,137 rushing yards for fifth and seventh place in Grizzly football history.
