(Washington, D.C.) – USDA is investing more than $1.2 billion in loans and grants to spur economic development, catalyze rural prosperity and advance equity through rural cooperatives in 36 states and Puerto Rico.
Montana will receive $575,000 of this for 3 projects in Montana.
$375,000 of the funding will go toward the Montana Cooperative Development Center (MCDC) in Great Falls, Montana, to fund the Center’s operational costs and to support programming and feasibility work that will help Indigenous communities build cooperative business models and women’s equity programs. $200,000 will go to the Lake County Community Development Corporation (LCCDC) in Ronan, Montana, to provide development and operational expansion of rural cooperatives.
