(NMB) Former Havre High Basketball standout Loy Waid has signed to play basketball at Northwest Nazarene University in Nampa, Idaho. Waid spent last year at Wenatchee College where she started all 25 games averaging 15.7 points and 9.8 rebounds per game. she also shot 54.5 percent from the field. While Waid had an outstanding season at Wenatchee, she ultimately wanted a chance to play at a higher level and Northwest Nazarene fit what she was looking for. “Mostly just liked the people and wanting to play at a higher level. It’s a really good environment over there, very welcoming people.”
Northwest Nazarene is a NCAA Division 2 school that plays in the Great Northwest Athletic Conference that also includes MSU Billings.
Waid was part of three State Championship teams at Havre High School
